Alert Assist Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 19, 2025
1. Introduction
Alert Assist ("the Application", "App"), developed by Andromedays (Google Play Developer Account), is a context-aware mobile application designed to intelligently manage notifications and provide emergency-related features. This Privacy Policy explains what data we access, why we access it, how it is processed, and the controls you have. By using Alert Assist you consent to the data practices described here.
All processing occurs locally on your device without external data transmission, except where required for integrated third-party services (e.g., AdMob, Firebase, Google Play Billing).
Key points (short):
- Alert Assist uses background services (foreground service) for features such as continuous fall detection and optional location tracking.
- The app displays advertisements (Google AdMob) and uses Firebase Analytics for app analytics.
- Users may watch rewarded ads to earn points that unlock certain subscription-like features.
- Most processing is performed locally on device; integrated third parties may collect or process data under their own policies.
We are not responsible for any issues caused by third-party usage of your personal information.
Note: Alert Assist is also available on Wear OS / Android Watch devices. The companion Wear OS / Android Watch app does not collect personal data, location, or audio; it only signals the phone to trigger configured SMS alerts or emergency contact phone calls.
Note: Watching rewarded ads may involve processing anonymized identifiers and usage signals by the ad provider.
Note: The app may send emergency messages (SMS) and initiate emergency calls. Standard SMS or call charges may apply according to your mobile carrier. The app does not cover these costs.
1.1 Interpretation and Definitions
1.1.1. Interpretation
The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.
1.1.2. Definitions
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
- Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.
- Application / App refers to Alert Assist.
- Company / We / Us refers to Andromedays (Alert Assist developer).
- Device means any device that can access the Service such as a cellphone or tablet.
- Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
- Service Provider means third-parties that process data on our behalf or provide services such as analytics or advertising.
- You means the individual using the Service.
2. Information Access and Usage
The Application requires access to certain device features and information to deliver its core functionality. Where permissions are required, they are requested explicitly and can be revoked by the user at any time.
2.1 Data types and purpose
- Usage Data: App interactions, session durations, performance metrics (used for troubleshooting and product improvement).
- Location Data: Precise or approximate location only when you enable location-based features (e.g., emergency SMS with location, continuous location tracking if explicitly turned on).
- SEND_SMS & CALL_PHONE: Used only to send emergency SMS messages and to initiate emergency calls to pre-configured contacts or emergency numbers. SMS content may include your current location and preset emergency text.
- RECORD_AUDIO: Used only when you explicitly trigger an emergency audio recording feature. Audio recordings are sent only to selected contacts and are not stored on our servers.
- Advertising identifiers and related signals: These may be used by integrated ad providers (e.g., AdMob) to serve and measure ads.
2.2 Local processing and non-retention
Primary context analysis (fall detection, notification filtering) is performed locally on your device. Unless explicitly stated, we do not upload or store your personal sensor data, location data, or audio recordings on our servers. Temporary processing data used during active sessions is cleared when the session ends or when the app is closed, except where third-party services (see below) require different handling.
2.3 Background / Foreground Services
- Background operation: Alert Assist uses Android foreground services to run continuous tasks (for example: fall detection, optional continuous location tracking). This means the app can perform monitoring even if the UI is not visible or the device screen is off.
- Persistent notification: When a foreground service is active, Android requires a persistent notification. Some device manufacturers may hide such notifications; check your device settings if you do not see it.
- User control: You may disable background/foreground services from the app settings or revoke the related permissions in your device settings. Disabling these services may limit or stop emergency and tracking features.
- Scope: The background services are used only for core functionality (emergency detection, location tracking for emergency features, context-awareness) and are not used for unrelated tracking or data collection.
3. Advertising, Rewarded Ads and Points System
Alert Assist includes advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks. We also offer a rewarded-ads mechanism that lets users watch ads to earn points. These points can be redeemed to unlock certain subscription-like features or limited-time access as defined within the app.
3.1 Advertising (AdMob)
- We use Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob and other ad providers may collect identifiers and usage signals to serve and measure ads according to their policies.
- Ad providers may collect or infer device and usage information. Such data collection is governed by the ad provider's privacy policies (for Google: Google Privacy Policy).
- Watching ads may involve processing of anonymized identifiers and usage signals by the ad provider.
3.2 Rewarded ads and points
- Users may opt to view rewarded ads to earn points. Points are redeemed inside the app for specified features or temporary access (e.g., trial premium features, removing ads, or applying points toward in-app subscription-like options).
- Points accounting and redemption logic is handled locally in the app and via Google Play billing where purchases are involved. Points do not transfer to external systems except where explicitly required by a purchase/fulfillment operation.
- Points earned through rewarded ads are non-transferable outside the app and may be revoked in case of suspected fraud.
4. Analytics (Firebase)
We use Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated and pseudonymized usage information to improve the app. Data collected may include events (feature use, crash reports, engagement metrics) and basic device information (OS version, device model).
- Data collected by Firebase is subject to Google's privacy policies. For details, see: Firebase Privacy and Google Privacy Policy.
- Collected analytics data is used to: improve app stability, prioritize feature development, and detect crashes or misuse.
- You can opt out of analytics collection by disabling analytics in the app settings (if provided) or by using device-level ad/analytics opt-out mechanisms where available.
5. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
Alert Assist integrates third-party services which may collect, store, and process data under their own terms. We do not control these third-parties' data handling. Examples of third-parties we use or may use:
- Google / Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging)
- Google AdMob (advertising)
- Google Play Billing (subscription & purchase processing)
When a third-party service processes personal or usage data, that processing is governed by that provider's privacy policy. We recommend you review these policies directly.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
- Local retention: App preferences, points balance, and user-configured emergency contacts are stored on the device. You may clear app data or uninstall the app to remove local data.
- Analytics data: Aggregated analytics and crash data retained by Firebase are subject to Firebase's retention rules.
- Third-party data: Data held by ad networks, analytics providers, or payment processors is subject to their retention and deletion policies. To request deletion of data held by third-party providers, contact them directly (links provided in Section 14).
7. Delete Your Personal Data
We do not collect or store personal data on our own servers. For data collected by integrated
third-party services (e.g., Google Maps, Firebase, AdMob), you must request deletion directly
from those providers:
8. User Controls and Opt-Out
You retain control over permissions and many features that affect data collection:
- Permissions: Revoke location, SMS, call, or microphone permissions via your device settings. Revoking these permissions may disable related features.
- Background services: Disable foreground/background services in the app settings or stop the persistent notification to stop continuous monitoring.
- Analytics & advertising opt-out: Use device-level ad tracking controls to limit ad personalization. If the app provides an in-app toggle to disable analytics or personalized ads, use it.
- Delete local data: Uninstall the app or use any provided in-app data deletion tools to remove stored preferences and points.
- Contact us: See Section 15 for privacy-related requests (deletion, access, questions).
9. Security Measures
We implement technical and organizational measures to protect local data and minimize risks. Examples:
- Use of Android security APIs for storing sensitive preferences.
- Minimal data collection and local-only processing where practical.
- Use of HTTPS / platform security for any network calls made by third-party services.
Despite precautions, no system is completely secure. If you suspect misuse of your data, contact us immediately.
10. Subscription, Billing and Points
- Paid subscriptions are managed through Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details.
- Some subscription-like accesses may be obtainable by redeeming in-app points earned via rewarded ads. Points accounting is handled within the app and may be subject to change; we reserve the right to modify redemption rules.
- Refunds and billing disputes are handled via Google Play’s support processes.
11. Children
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from users under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will take steps to delete such data.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in features, legal requirements, or third-party services.
Significant changes will be communicated via in-app notice, email (if you provided one), or by updating the
Last Updated
date shown at the top of this document.
If you do not agree with the updated Privacy Policy or related changes communicated in-app,
you should uninstall Alert Assist. Continued use of the application after being notified of changes will be
considered as acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy and any related terms.
13. Transfer of Your Personal Data
Data processed by third-party services (advertising networks, analytics, payment processors) may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own. Such transfers are governed by those providers' policies and applicable law.
14. Links to Other Websites / Third-Party Policies
For details on how third parties handle your data, see:
15. Contact Information
For privacy-related inquiries, requests for access or deletion of data, or questions about this policy:
